  I discovered Stampin' Up! back in 2001. I fell in love with how simple and cute Stampin’ Up! stamps and papers are. And the quality of Stampin' Up!'s products is unmatched!

The year 2010 has officially begun for Stampin’ Up!.  And with it, we have a new catalog!  There are new In Colors, new Designer Papers, new accessories and even some new tools.  Click on the catalog to the left to download a pdf version (be patient ’cause it’s a huge file!) or contact me and I’ll get a hard copy to you.

Check it out!  On my left , I’ve added an SU color-matching chart.  It’s very cool.  You can input any of the SU colors and it will match other SU colors to it.  It has all the new In Colors, too!  You can save your color combos or choose "surprise me" for instant matches. 

Lots of stuff going on!  Make sure to hop around here to get the latest and greatest!  Oh!  And check the Calendar page, too.  I have Open Houses scheduled on the 7th and the 12th, plus some stamp-a-stacks & such coming up.  Please come to everything ’cause I’d love to meet you (if I haven’t already!)!

I’ve had a couple of stamp-a-stacks lately (with more to come!).  Here is a new one I did for my Red Hat ladies when they came over last Thursday.

Under the cake it says, "a candle for every year might not be such a good idea… happy birthday!".  How stinkin’ funny is that??  Ironically, the stamp set is called That’s Funny.   Usually I go back and forth trying to add things to the card and messing around with it for awhile.  I decided to keep this simple and let the words speak for themselves.  (This is a good strategy for sympathy cards as well).  Oooh!  I have a beautiful sympathy card that I promise I’ll post soon.  It uses the Inspired By Nature set, which I’m sooo glad is back in the new catalog.  Oops!  Did I say that out loud? 

I used Baja Breeze for the card base.  It’s retiring on the 30th and I know you all love it, so order it before it’s gone.  Then I just edged it with Chocolate Chip and used blender pens to color in the cake with Baja Breeze and the candles in Summer Sun.  I used the 2 Way Glue and Dazzling Diamonds to give the candles sparkle.  After all, if you can’t have sparkle on your birthday, when can you have it?

 

The new catalog comes out July 1st – but you know that already!  Here’s a bit of a peak at one of the new sets:

 

Are you loving it!?!  The flower image is so beautiful…so victorian.  I used it to create patterned paper (home made DSP!) and it looks like wallpaper from the 1800s.  Just fabulous.  The card base is Pink Pirouette, as is the ribbon, and the the ink and frame paper is one of the new In Colors, Rich Razzleberry.  The sentiment is from the Embrace Life set.  I love finding ways to combine stamp sets!  Play around with your stamp sets – find sentiments that work with different images.  I dare you!

Ingredients:  Baroque Motifs and All Holidays stamp sets,  Certainly Celery ink, Uniglow white gel pen, Certainly Celery, Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze and Apricot Appeal cardstock, 3 flower punch.

I am loving the Branch Out set!  I received it free from Stampin’ Up! (you can get free stamps, too – ask me how!).  It’s great because you can tailor the tree to any season.  And it’s new so it won’t be going away any time soon!  Yay!

And Baroque Motifs is a timeless classic that you can use for any occasion any time of year.  It’s fabulous!!  I can’t wait to start my Christmas cardmaking classes & sessions (starts July 25th)!  I use Baroque Motifs every year! 

 

 

 

I’m so sorry to see the "old" In Colors retiring, especially Riding Hood Red!  Exciting new colors are replacing them, though and here’s a shot of what they look like:

From left to right, the new colors are Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Dusty Durango, Soft Suede, Crushed Curry & Bermuda Bay.  And they come in markers, too!!!  Woo hoo!  This is the first time SU has produced In Color markers.  I’m sure it’s because of the mass amount of requests received by demonstrators and their customers over the years. 

I can’t wait for the UPS man to bring these babies home to me!  It’s one thing to see the new colors on my monitor – a whole different thing to see them in real life!  And on that note…

I’m having an Open House to celebrate the release of the new catalog on Tuesday, July 7th (9:30am and 7pm) and Sunday, July 12th, (1pm).  I’ll have make & takes, prizes and treats for attending.  Mark your calendars and bring a friend or two!  Please see my calendar page for details!

Kids, husband, bills, work, parents….ugh!  Ever feel like you just want to crawl up into a ball and roll away from it all?  Sometimes the pressures of life…get to you…swallow you…and it’s hard to see a way out.  That’s where I’ve been since March.  Just stuck in the doldrums being pitiful.  All together now…."aaaaaawwwwwww".

I’m feeling a revival coming on.  Not that Stampin’ Up! has the power to raise the dead, but it’s really something that I love and enjoy doing.  I enjoy teaching others how to do paper crafting while learning along the way myself.  I love seeing the "aha" moment when it really clicks with someone.  I really like spending time with my friends and fellow stampers doing something we all enjoy and can talk about endlessly.  I love going to crops and just losing myself in the project I’m working on.  All these reasons are why I became a demonstrator.  So I will live to fight another day.

SU is going to make June a good month to recover.  On Monday, June 1, Stampin’ Up!’s list of retired stamp sets (called Last Chance List) will be released.

In anticipation of the list of stamp sets we will say good-bye to, I will be holding a contest!! E-mail me a list of 10 stamps sets that you think will be retiring from the Spring/Summer Catalog by Fri., May 29 at midnight (EST).

The person who guesses the most stamp sets on the retiring list will win their choice from my retiring stamp sets! If there is a tie, the list I recieved first will win. EVERYONE who submits a completed entry will receive a $5 coupon to be used on your July order of $50 or more.
